Welcome to the home of Ventura County Volleyball Club (VCVC)!
After many months of thoughtful planning, VCVC finally opened its doors in August 2013. At the inception of our planning stage, it has been our vision to provide an opportunity for young athletes from the Ventura County and surrounding areas to be able to train in a facility properly set up and dedicated solely to Volleyball. We wanted to provide them an opportunity to train with coaches who are well-versed in the fundamentals of volleyball; who are passionate about the game; who care about developing young players into elite athletes; who we believe will have a positive influence in each and every player and who understand and care about their health and fitness through proper technique, stretching and nutrition. Additionally, we wanted to ensure the operations of the club would be extremely organized, keeping players and parents informed throughout the entire season.
We believe we are now established to execute on our vision. We have built out a 13,000 square foot facility with 30 foot high ceilings that will house two separated courts. For our floors, we partnered with Sport Court the supplier of high performance volleyball courts endorsed by the NCAA, USA Volleyball and the FIVB. Our courts were designed to have adequate room on the sides for proper hitting transitions and room behind the end lines to learn and perfect proper serving techniques. By having our own dedicated volleyball facility, we are able to provide more practice time for our teams and will also be able to offer Private/Semi-Private training as well as skill specific clinics. We will limit the number of teams to a level that will continue to allow adequate time for each team and player.
With respect to our coaches, we have brought together a team of highly-respected coaches who all share our Vision (see bios). Our coaches bring many years of Volleyball coaching experience at the Club, High School and College levels. Many of our coaches are trained in the Gold Medal Squared coaching techniques a standard currently used at many of the top D-1 Schools, including UCLA, Pepperdine and BYU. Our coaching staff also includes members who are certified Athletic Trainers or are currently work for local Sports Therapy practices.
VCVC will be directed by Steve (“Yosh”) Yoshimoto (see bio). Yosh will direct the operations of the entire club focusing most of his efforts in coaching and directing the Girls Volleyball Program. He will also direct the Boys Volleyball Program.
We at VCVC look forward to executing on our Vision and are hopeful you will join us.
